dreaming of lunches + old friends + exciting news!

I used to work with Lauren* once upon a time, but I haven't sat down for a proper chat with the girl in over a year (which is crazy, because we still work in the same building.) So today was a treat! We went to lunch at the adorable Peas Please and it was the best way I could imagine spending my lunch break, gossiping about our past jobs, current jobs, boyfriends and lack of boyfriends. Note to self: An hour is not nearly enough to catch up on a year's worth of happenings. We will definitely not be leaving it so long next time.

PS. Is it normal to spend hours before you go out to lunch thinking about what you're going to order? Because I was dreaming about this meal before I even went to bed last night. I had decided on the peking chicken wrap and chocolate milkshake by about 6am this morning. Reading the menu was really just for show. So I don't look like one of those freaks who over-thinks their food, you know...

PPS. I'm an aunty! (Well, an aunty of sorts anyway.) I just found out my dear friend Sarah had her baby and it's a boy. My instincts were way off – I was so certain it was going to be a girl! But I already love you so much Henry and I haven't even met you yet. Welcome to the world – I think you're going to love it.

*Don't mind the link. I love to show off how cool and talented and generally amazing my friends are. It makes me feel infinitely more awesome by proxy.

  1. I am the same way when I know the menu at a place I'm going with friends! And a shake sounds so yummy right now at 2 AM.
